Are your headlights safe for night driving?

One of the most important safety features of your car is probably the least maintained. I’m talking about your headlights!

Today’s modern headlight assembly consists of a glass bulb, inside of a heat-resistant plastic housing. That housing is exposed to light, heat, rain, snow, pollutants and more. Over time, the headlight housing is coated with particulates, and even scratches that limit the amount of light illuminating the roads.

Fortunately, there is a solution. Mi-T-Fine Car Wash offers headlight and taillight restoration, which will bring your assemblies to nearly-new condition, and give you that potentially life-saving extra light on the roadway. You’ve probably seen the “miracle” headlight products hawked on TV or at the county fair. While these products can help, they do not restore your headlight to OEM condition. The Mi-T-Fine Car Wash restoration process, and it is a process of several steps, will in most cases restore your lenses to like new.

I recently took my older pickup truck to one of our seven locations to have my headlights restored. My truck is a 2002 model and the headlights are the originals, so as you can imagine, the headlights were in very sad shape.

The process starts by taping around the headlights,

as we will be using sanding and buffing tools, and we don’t want to damage the paint or chrome around the headlight. After taping, we start the sanding process.
We use four different types of sanding pads to get all the particulates off.

There are four separate sanding elements that are used on each headlight. We used 3M brand sanding elements, which have proven to be durable and dependable.
The sanding process is the longest of the processes to clean the headlights.

When the sanding is completed, the restorative polish is added, and that is then buffed and cleaned.

The entire process takes about 45 minutes, and the result is stunning!
